Adaptogenic Latte Recipe

There’s nothing like a good morning routine, and if you’re anything like us, your morning coffee is a key part of that process. In the recent years our team has started to incorporate adaptogens into our coffee and have found this small change so incredibly beneficial to our overall health and wellness. This adaptogenic latte recipe has become known as something like the signature “Berlin Skin brew” around here, and for good reason! It’s delicious, easy and provides several amazing benefits to the body.

Just in case you’re not too familiar, adaptogens are plant materials that help the body in natural processes, including digestion, regulating stress levels and supporting hormonal balance. I know right? Sign us up! Here is a quick round up of our favorite adaptogenic ingredients to easily incorporate into your daily routine.

Yin Powder

This is like a little love note to the feminine body from the herbalists over at Sun Potion. Packed with organic and wild harvested herbs, this tonic helps support immunity, hormonal balance, mental clarity, stimulates cellular regeneration, increases libido and helps your body process stress. This powdery supplement has a subtle creamy finish in taste, making it easy to dust into your coffee or tea!

Ingredients:

Reishi Mushroom, He Shou Wu Extract, Pearl Powder, Tocos, Ashwagandha Extract, Pine Pollen, Astragalus Extract, Shatavar

Collagen

Taking collagen daily is so vital for skin health! It improves elasticity, reduces wrinkles and helps prevent early signs of aging. Its also known to help muscular regeneration, supports joint, ligament and tendon health — well as strengthening bones. Collagen supports so many of the structural systems of the body, keeping us strong and vibrant.

MUD/WTR

This is technically meant to be a coffee replacement — but not for us! We love to add a dash of MUD/WTR to our morning coffee for the sweet and spicy flavor it brings. With spices like cinnamon, turmeric, cacao and a chai blend, it takes an average latte to the next level. Plus, you get the added benefits of Lion’s Mane, a mushroom that supports brain health, pumps the body with antioxidants, improves mood and focus, and can also be known to alleviate symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases! Talk about powerful.

Adaptogenic Latte Recipe

1-2 shots of fresh espresso, brewed from beans of your choice. If you don’t have an espresso machine, use an aero press with a fine grind and it’s just as good.

4-6 oz. milk of your choice (we opt for a raw milk sourced from our local farmers)

1 tbsp Yin Powder

1 scoop collagen of your choice (we opt for vital proteins or wholy dose — both great options!)

1/2 tsp MUD/WTR

*Add a tsp or two of raw local honey to taste if you like your coffee a bit sweeter.

**If you don’t drink coffee, you can do this full recipe without the coffee and it’s still delicious.

Instructions

  1. Pull your espresso shots or brew your coffee and place in your mug.

  2. Heat up milk on the stove in a small stainless steel pot. While it’s heating up, add all the other ingredients, constantly stirring with a whisk.

  3. Once the milk mixture heats up to a nice foam, remove from heat and immediately add to your coffee. Add honey if you’re using.

  4. Give it a nice stir and enjoy. P.S. it tastes better if you drink it while reading a book, meditating, and definitely without a phone in hand. ;)
